About us
Our mission and direction of work
We are working on the preservation and restoration of unique oak forest pastures (traditional mud forests) on the territory of the communities of Dragove, Zabridy, Solotarevo, Kolodne, Krychevo and Ugolka in Tyachiv and Khust districts.
These ancient cultural landscapes, which were formed by the joint interaction of man, livestock and nature for centuries, are today under threat of extinction. Due to the cessation of traditional grazing, the territories are heavily overgrown with gorse, blackberry and shrubs, which leads to the accumulation of dry biomass and a significant increase in fire danger, especially in the conditions of climate change.
Our task is to restore traditional and modern mobile grazing (Mob Grazing) on public (almenda) lands. We combine local cows with our gray steppe cattle under the care of a professional shepherd, using mobile electric herders for precise grazing management.
The goal of the project is to create a model zone of sustainable development in Zakarpattia, which combines:
- Cultural and natural heritage preservation
- Support of local small agricultural producers
- Ecological development responsible tourism
- Creating a certification system and common brand of local products
We act as a bridge between local communities, district administrations and scientists. Our long-term goal is to build an effective system of support for small farms in Transcarpathia through certification, joint marketing and preservation of the traditional way of farming.
